Insurance services
for international transportation

About the service

When transporting goods internationally, it is important to protect them from potential risks such as loss, damage, or force majeure. Insurance provides financial security and guarantees compensation in the event of unforeseen circumstances. Our company offers several insurance coverage options for international shipments:

  • “Express” – for fast delivery of parcels and documents.
  • “Standard” – for shipments with extended carrier liability.
  • CMR (Cargo) – the optimal option for large or heavy cargo that cannot be shipped using Express or Standard rates, or where doing so would be economically unfeasible.

“Express” insurance

This is the fastest insurance option, suitable for documents and small parcels as well as large shipments. It is the optimal solution for customers who value speed and reliable cargo protection. Express insurance provides:

Maximum responsibility:

  • Documents and “Express Pak” – up to USD 100 per shipment.
  • Parcels up to 68 kg – up to USD 50,000.
  • Shipments over 68 kg – up to USD 100,000.

Automatic insurance (free of charge):

  • Air delivery – 28 USD/kg or up to USD 100 per parcel (whichever is more advantageous for the customer).
  • Ground delivery – 10.4 USD/kg or up to USD 100 per parcel.

 Example of compensation calculation:

  • The parcel weighs 10 kg and costs USD 500.
  • The compensation will be: 10 × 28 = USD 280 (this is more than USD 100, so the customer will receive exactly USD 280).

Additional carrier liability:

  • Available upon request.
  • Cost – 1.05% of the declared value of the cargo (but not exceeding the maximum coverage amount).

What is not covered by Express insurance

  • Loss of profit due to delivery delays.
  • Force majeure circumstances beyond the carrier’s control

“Standard” Insurance

If you need insurance with more flexible terms, you should consider “Standard”:

 Main conditions:

  • Standard carrier liability – up to USD 2,000 per shipment.
  • Option to increase the liability amount to USD 10,000 (cost to be specified upon request).

What is not covered by “Standard” insurance

  • Indirect losses (e.g., loss of profits due to delays).
  • Compensation for delayed delivery.

CMR insurance (“Cargo”)

If you ship large consignments of goods or use international road transport, you should consider CMR insurance.

What is CMR?

  • This is an international convention that regulates the carriage of goods by road and defines the carrier’s liability.

Limitation of liability:

  • Compensation depends on the weight of the lost or damaged cargo.
  • Maximum payment – 8.33 SDR (Special Drawing Rights) per 1 kg gross.

What is not covered?

  • Cases where loss or damage occurred due to the fault of the sender or recipient.
  • Damage due to improper packaging or labeling.
  • Force majeure circumstances (e.g., natural disasters).

Additional carrier liability:

  • Additional coverage can be arranged – 1% of the declared value of the cargo.

ATTENTION! The carrier may request a receipt, invoice, or other documents confirming the value of the cargo for all types of insurance.

How to obtain compensation in case of damage or loss?

To receive payment, you need to follow these simple steps:

Notify the carrier immediately after discovering damage or loss of cargo.
Provide documents confirming the value of the goods (receipt, invoice, website link, etc.).
Expect compensation, which is paid depending on the terms of the selected insurance.

IMPORTANT!

  • Compensation does not exceed the declared value of the cargo.
  • The quality and suitability of packaging for the nature of the shipment is the responsibility of the sender. If the packaging was inadequate or did not meet the specific requirements of the cargo, the claim for compensation may be rejected.
  • If the outer packaging has no visible damage, compensation will not be considered.

Frequently asked questions

What documents are required from an individual to complete the shipment?

To send a shipment from an individual, please provide the following documents:

  • A copy of your passport – to confirm the identity of the sender.
  • Customs declaration – in cases where the parcel is subject to customs clearance. Our specialists are ready to assist with the preparation and completion of the declaration.
  • Confirmation of the cost of the goods – this can be a receipt or a link to a website indicating the cost of the goods (if possible).

We are ready to advise you at every stage of preparing documents for travel abroad.

What documents are required from a legal entity to send a parcel?

To send a shipment from a legal entity, please provide the following documents:

  • Invoice or pro forma invoice – a document confirming the value of goods. If necessary, our specialists will help you fill it out.
  • A packing list is a list of goods with a description of the contents of the shipment. We are also ready to help you fill it out.
  • Additional documents (if required by the nature of the cargo) – these may include certificates of conformity, permits, conclusions, or other confirmations that are required for specific goods.

For legal entities, the rules for completing documents depend on the cost of shipment:

  • If the value is less than €1,000, after consultation with currency control, it is possible to register the shipment upon request with the company’s stamp and signature.
  • If the value exceeds €1,000, an export declaration must be completed. You can use our customs broker services and assistance in preparing the necessary documents.

How does customs clearance work in Ukraine?

The customs clearance process in Ukraine will depend on the price of the parcel:

  • Up to €150 – no taxes or duties will be charged.
  • Over €150 – taxes and duties are charged, the amount of which depends on the specifics of the parcel.

Important: Customs has the right to verify the declared value of the parcel. Additional documentation may be required to confirm the price.

How does customs clearance work in other countries?

Customs clearance abroad is influenced by the customs regulations of the specific country:

  • EU countries: regardless of the cost of the parcel, taxes are charged.
  • The United Kingdom: taxation of goods worth more than €135.
  • USA: goods worth up to USD 800 are not subject to taxes and duties. Above this limit, charges are applied depending on the type of parcel.

How is the weight of a shipment calculated?

There are two main methods for calculating the weight of a shipment:

  1. Actual weight – direct weighing of the parcel on scales.
  2. Volume weight – calculated using the formula:Volume weight=Length (cm) × Width (cm) × Height (cm)÷5000
  3. If the cargo is oversized or non-standard, the following formula may also be used: LDM=Length (m) × Width (m)÷2,4

We are always ready to help you choose the best payment method for your shipment.

How can I find out the location of my parcel in real time?

The tracking number found on your invoice will help you with this. Then go to the “Track” section on our website and enter this tracking number. Our tracking system will show the location of the shipment, the latest updates, and the estimated delivery time.
